Counselling and Psychotherapy in Exeter, Devon

WE HAVE ONLY RECENTLY CHANGED OUR WEBSITE PROVIDER AND SO THIS SITE IS STILL BEING WORKED ON. CALL US IF YOU DON'T FIND THE INFORMATION YOU ARE LOOKING FOR

Welcome to Palace Gate Counselling (PGCS)

In looking at this Website you will almost certainly have some idea that counselling / therapy may be able to help you. We hope these pages will provide some of the information you are looking for and understand why so many people turn to PGCS for that help.

We can feel very anxious about making an appointment for counselling. ‘surely I 'should' be able to cope with this on my own’, ‘am I making a fuss about nothing’, ‘will I feel silly or judged’; these and so many similar thoughts can stop us getting the help we need to improve our life in significant ways.

All counsellors at PGCS are trained professionals, all have received counselling themselves and none will judge you. Our aim is always to treat people with the utmost respect and consideration from the second you reach our door. A special quality of relationship will form the basis of your work with a counsellor and that will be offered in a safe and confidential space.

Since 1994 the Palace Gate Counselling Service (PGCS) has been providing high quality, affordable counselling / psychotherapy in Exeter. The majority of our clients are recommended by their GP's and almost every other agency in the area recommend us, but you don't need a referral from someone else to come.

We are:

  • A voluntary organisation. All our counsellors donate time to see clients
  • Affordable - client pay on a sliding scale, so counselling can be made available to all
  • Open access - you don't need a referral letter or anything else. Simply telephone for an appointment
  • A team of 35 trained counsellors
  • Not a free service but we aim to provide counselling to all at an affordable rate

We work with both individuals and couples in a safe, confidential and non-judgemental environment and on an open-ended basis or for an agreed time period, with the aim of enabling you to enhance your life and to live it more fully.
